The 3rd

The 3rd indeed in my series of blogs for English Media so from here on out it will be 100% Steve. But for the time being I'm going to talk about a one President George W. Bush. I know your all thinking here we go some jerk is going to talk on an on about how bad president Bush is but this but i think everyone should be aware of the announcement Mr. Bush made on national television recently. He go up in front of billions of people and announced that he has requested from the U.S. congress close to 200 billion dollars to put into the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I know your probably thinking what is going through his head that he needs an additional 200 billion dollars to spend on war that isn't over terrorism but instead over the oil shortage that is threatening the entire planet. So what do you guys think should he get this additional 200 bill or should he stop killing people in the middle east and end his "war against terrorism" give me as much feedback on the subject as you deem necessary.

Selling out or Breathing it in?

On July tenth of the current year Against Me! one of my favourite bands released their new CD entitled "New Wave." I had my doubts at first but was mistaken by the slight change in direction for the band and I'm sure others were also. But after a good listen to the album all the way through i had discovered that not only was i wrong about it being not up to the standards of the old album but it was a modern musical master piece the likes of which this generation is desperately in need of witnessing. I was also doubtful about the quality of this new album because of all the attention it was receiving from the media. For the first time i was seeing Against Me on the T.V. and hearing them on the radio and i remember think to my self there goes another band thrown to the mercy of the media and becoming just like every other Joe Blow band out there making the same music that says nothing and means nothing. But also, people started to come up to me after seeing my shirt(I bought at their show I went to last year) and saying, "Oh you listen to Against Me? I do too I love New Wave" which only made me angry because I just thought you haven't got a clue do you, you don't even appreciating what paved the way for "New Wave" but after a proper musical evaluation of the album I was wrong this new album is amazing and coming from a musicians point of view this is like I said up there ^^ this is a modern musical masterpiece. Alright I'm done but if anyone wants to hear some amazing music buy Against Me's new album "New Wave" but also listen to "Americans Abroad" to give you a taste of the old before hearing the new. Thats it!

P.S. the new Foo Fighters album "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace" and Radiohead's "In rain bows" just came out and they are both extremely amazing albums i recommend them to anyone who's got an open minded to music of any genre.

Procrastination

Indeed procrastination at its best is what has been keeping me from writing my first post, that and a busy schedual. This is an introductory blog to the many more blogs i will write everyone. My name is Stephen Parent, I was born on August 14th 1990, i'm in my last year at S.C.S.S., and i play in a band called Threshold Shift, I live with my mom, sister, sister's boyfriend but i have three older sisters and no brothers. I am pro-gay, pro-choice, anti-racist, and anti-current government. After highschool I plan on moving to Toronto with my three other band members Adam Hunter, Ian Penner and Alex McCready and hopefully get the band signed(fingers crossed) and at the same time attend chefschool as a fallback if music doesn't end up working for me. Well i think thats just enough sharing for the time being so ill post again later.
